DECEASED ALUM:  ELOYSE HELEN ROSENCRANZ BRYANT - FHHS '69

Eloyse Rosenkranz Bryant, 72, of Clayton, North Carolina, formerly of Emporia, Virginia passed away peacefully November 26, 2023 surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Rosenkranz. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Woodrow (Bubba) Bryant, Jr.; her son, Craig Bryant and wife, Megan of Clayton (Benjamin and Samuel); and daughter, Erin Bryant Norby and husband, Christopher of Glen Allen, Virginia (Conner and Owen). She is also survived by her mother, Nancye Rosenkranz, of Richmond, Virginia; two brothers, Kirk Rosenkranz and wife, Amy of Sacramento, California; and Eric Rosenkranz and wife, Vanessa of Manakin Sabot, Virginia; and sister in law, Paige Bryant Hill and husband, Jimmy of Suffolk, Virginia; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Eloyse was born in Wisconsin, raised in Charlottesville, Virginia and finished high school in Fairfax County, Virginia before attending Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina where she graduated with a degree in Education in 1973. She received her Master’s Degree in Education from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1980. She taught in the Greensville County Public School system-at Belfield Elementary School for 25 years and at Greensville Elementary School for 15 years. She retired in 2013. She also taught swimming lessons for many years. She loved reading, family vacations at the beach and spending time with her grandsons.

A Celebration of Life Service is being planned. Details will be announced at a later time.
