I never paid a lot of attention to the In Memory section before, causally looked at names I recognized that were posted on the FHHS facebook sites.  I was saddened to see Gary's name today, we grew up together as little kids, playing at each others houses, leaving first thing in the morning telling our parents we were going out to play and not coming home until dinner.  They would ask what we did and all we could say was that we were out running around the neighborhood.  Time had no boundaries, hours flowed into days, days into years, years into our lifetime. I only regret that I didn't take the time to reconnect and now he is gone and there is no one to talk about the times we shared!

Missed opportunities.

RIP Gary

I'm sorry to hear of "Ruff"s" passing.  He and my brother, Jim Maddox, were inseparable in high school.  They were the best of friends as both enjoyed Civil War history.  They went on many history excursions and I tagged along quite a few times.  He was funny and a joy to be around.  My brother also passed away in April 2022 (James Louis Maddox, III; FHHS 1972).  I miss them both. - Phil Maddox

Ah, no.  This is very hard to see.  He had such enthusiasm, such a wonderfully goofy sense of humor, and yet could talk about things quiet and deep.  Fifty years later, and I can still see him laughing about something and see his infectious grin.  A very memorable person, one who shared the gift of himself with us at an important time in all our lives.

With fond memories of you, from Pinkie.

Rest in Peace.
