I attended college in Bellingham, WA (WWU) and lived/worked in Seattle briefly before moving to Hawaii for a year. After coming down with "island fever", I decided to return to the mainland and California seemed like as good a place as any. I worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard as an EEO Specialist for @10 years, before "retiring" to stay home and raise three very active kids. When my youngest left for college, I re-entered the workforce doing bookkeeping for a family friend. My boss is very flexible about allowing me to take off, so I can travel with Bill when he goes on business trips. I'm a grandmother to Peyton, who just turned three and lives about a mile away from us.
How often do you get back to Alexandria?

I haven't been back to Alexandria in 20+ years. So many good memories of living back there and attending FHHS, but it seems like getting back there just hasn't been in the plans for years. Soon, hopefully!

Do you still see/talk to/hang out with any classmates? Who?

Jeff Agnew, Debi Gray (Rice); Linda Rice (Ward); David Batalo. We had the pleasure of hanging out with Dave and his wife a year ago when they visited the Bay Area. I hope to see Debi again soon when I next visit my parents. Every few years, Jeff and his wife and Bill and I rendezvous in Santa Fe, NM. Good times!

What would we be surprised to know about you?

No surprises here!

What are your memories of high school (i.e. secret crush, embarrassing moment, funniest thing you did in high school, favorite high school hang out, favorite teachers)?

My "secret crush" was Pete Smith, class of '69. But then what girl didn't have a crush on him?!?!

My favorite teacher was Anthony Rizzo, who I had for Spanish all four years of school. I was heart-broken to read of the trouble he got himself into.

Biggest thing you would do differently if you went back to your time at high school?

Get involved in student government.

I've been living in Benicia, CA for 50+ years now and love it. I haven't been back to Alexandria since our 20 year reunion, but I'm retiring in October and hope to make it back then. Lots of fond memories of my time at FHHS.

I've often wondered what Cheri was up to and had looked to see if she was on classmates.com.  I just came across her name here and it just broke my heart to think I never was able to reconnect with her.  We lived just a few houses away from one another for five years and I always remember her sweet smile and cheery demeanor.  I know she's a beautiful angel.
