Kathleen Griffin Gamble

Married John Rosenberry after graduation and moved out here to Tucson, AZ in 1970. Got divorced and went to work for the local newspaper in 1982. Worked there for 26 years until I took a buy-out in 2008, after my dad died suddenly and left my 92 yr, old mom alone. Brought her home to live with us until she passed away in 2011. I have lived out in the desert for the past 31 years, on a 10 acre ranch, raising livestock, mostly what we can eat. For 20 years my husband and two of my boys raced dirt bikes (motocross), until our youngest son passed away in a race here, in 2004.

Took a trip with my daughter, who is a USP Postmaster, for a convention is Washington D.C. She drove us out to see my old house and neighborhood, and Ft. Hunt. Took a lot of good pictures. Living in the middle of the desert for 34 years, all the green was so refreshing.

Don't know where any of them are. Have seen the Rosenberry boys, though, who all live in Florida now.

I am definitely NOT the quiet, mousy, girl I was in H.S.

I came to Fort Hunt in 1964 and that whole junior year, I had a crush on Ron Rosenberry, who was dating someone. I ended up marrying his older brother after graduating. When I arrived in Virginia, I thought some of the kids were a little snooty. I came from a desert town (Tucson, Arizona) where everyone is friendly, and who cares what you wear. Here, it's always shorts and flip flops. At Fort Hunt, if you didn't wear Madras, Penney Loafers, Villager clothes, or whatever the latest fashion was at the time, you didn't fit in.

I wish I could go back and be the person I am now, in my last two years at Fort Hunt.
