Christopher Yednock Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 26, 2017.

Christopher T. Yednock, 57, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 23, 2017.
He was a native of Alexandria, VA., Graduating from Ft. Hunt High School, and went
on to earn his Master's Degree from University of Phoenix. Chris served with the US
Navy for 18 years until he was honorably discharged in 1995 and eventually made his
home in Colorado with his loving wife Donna.

Chris had many passions, including golf and his many home improvement projects.
He took pride in his work, always striving for perfection. His motto was "measure twice,
cut once".

He is survived by his wife Donna, their two daughters, Nicole and Constance both
of California. Chris also has 3 brothers, James Yednock and wife Maria of
Madison WI., Robert Yednock and wife Linda of Fredericksburg, VA., and Stephen
Yednock and wife Roas of Bountiful, UT. He also has 5 sisters, Patricia Moseley of
Chesapeake, VA., Joan Comstock and husband David of Milwaukee, WI., Jeanette Dale and husband
Kevin of Chesapeake, VA., Karen Roose of Stanford, VA., and Theresa Yednock of Columbia, SC.,
He also has 16 nieces and nephews and their families spread throughout the country.

Chris grew up in a large Catholic family, was the 6th of 9 children, and the youngest boy
to John and Esther Yednock. He loved his family and making them laugh, especially his younger sisters
at the dinner table with the simple word "shoelace".

He enjoyed sports including football in his youth, basketball in his teens and later on, golf.
His love of golf started with his parents who introduced him to the game and would take him to
the Woodlawn Country Club, where he honed in on his golf skills, as well as running up his parents'
club account to the shock and surprise of his parents.

After a couple of years hiatus, he joined the US Navy where he traveled the world to places including
Greece, Iceland, Japan, England and the various parts of the U.S., often sending gifts to his sisters and niece. Amongst his travels in the US, he ventured to Oklahoma City, OK., where he met his soul mate, Donna who soon became his wife. In 2011, they made their home in the Black Forest area of Colorado.

He remained close to his siblings across the miles by keeping in touch with them through various sources:
phone, internet, text messages, and even Skyping where he always ended his conversation with, "Love Ya!"

Chris was a year behind me but lived on my street. His Dad taught Drivers Ed over at Mt.Vernon but some our classmates may have had him if they took over the summer.
