Went to University of Michigan on an Army ROTC Scholarship. Graduated in 1977 and was commissioned as a 2LT in the US Army Field Artillery. Have been on Active Duty ever since. Have participated in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm (Saudi Arabia/Iraq - 1990-1991); Operation Uphold Democracy (Haiti - 1995); Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan - 2003-2004); Operation New Dawn (Iraq - 2010-2011). Retired after 36 years on Active Duty as a Major General on 1 Sep 2013.
Took over as President of Army and Navy Academy on 17 Jan 2014. Retired on 1 Aug 2021. Now residing in Brooklyn, MI.
