Are you an independent business owner/entrepreneur? If yes, tell us about it. If no, please skip this question and leave it blank.

After years of working in Corporate America, specifically the Mortgage Finance arena, I decided it was time for a change. I purchased several investment properties on Amelia Island in 2006, mostly to shelter capital gains, and that is where I planned to retire. It is a magical place with no traffic and an eclectic mix of artsy and enterprising folks. One of my tenants wanted an early release from their lease so I sold my house in Herndon in 1 day, packed up my things and moved to Amelia island in June of 2017. I currently own several properties, Falcon Enterprises Nassau LLC, which feed me and am 1 mile from the beach. Life is good!

Comments:

Never got around to it.

School Story:

After graduating from Fort Hunt High School, I went to NOVA, while working part time. I transferred all my credits to George Mason where I graduated with a BS in Business with a concentration in Finance in 1987. I also have an MBA from Averett University in 1996. I got a Real Estate License in Virginia in 2002, which assisted me in building my portfolio of rental properties.

How often do you get back to Alexandria?

I try to get back to see family and friends at least once a year.

Do you still see/talk to/hang out with any classmates? Who?

I try to keep up with some of the girls I hung out with in High School and we try to get together once a year on Girls Day usually in December. Susan Carter, Nan Bouroughs, Liz Larsen, my sister, Diane McNight, Heidi Pareillo, Cindy Manahan, Candy Rackham

What would we be surprised to know about you?

I have retired at 58, moved to Amelia Island and enjoying my life

What are your memories of high school (i.e. secret crush, embarrassing moment, funniest thing you did in high school, favorite high school hang out, favorite teachers)?

The parking lot club. Fort Hunt High School was an eclectic mix of folks with varying backgrounds which led to great friendships and great memories during a normally difficult time in one life, adolescence.

Biggest thing you would do differently if you went back to your time at high school?

Spend more time studying
