Major David Hall Richmond, Obituary

 

Major David Hall Richmond, 54 of Franklin, Tenn., died at home May 24, 2010. Major Richmond received a BS degree from Virginia Polytechnical Institute and an MS Degree from Troy State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, 11 of which he served as a tactical fighter pilot. During this time, he was awarded Pilot of the Year and was selected Officer of the Year in Europe. After retiring from active duty, he went on to fly for Federal Express Corporation for 10 years. Major Richmond was an active member of the Church of the Resurrection in Franklin, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his father, Colonel Melvin E. Richmond. Major Richmond is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jane "Malli" Hart Richmond; son, Daniel David Richmond; and daughter AnnaMary Hart Richmond, all of Franklin, Tennessee. In addition, he is survived by his mother, Mary Hall Richmond of Silver Springs, Md.; sister Anne Camile Street (Tom), of Brookville, Md.; brother Col. Melvin E. Richmond Jr. (Karen) of Dumfries, Va.

A memorial service will be held, Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 2 p.m., at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, with visitation one hour prior.
