Thomas Hewitt "Tom" Soapes - Class Of 1969

Dr. Thomas Hewitt Soapes, age 60, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Fairmont, MN to Thomas D. Soapes and Lesbia C. Soapes. He is survived by his wife, Lisa L. Soapes; children, Nicholas H. Soapes and wife, Tabatha and Kathryn M. Soapes-Trujillo and husband, Andres; grandchildren, Riley N. Soapes and a little one on the way; sister, Rose Eide ['68] and husband, Bill; brother, Mike Soapes ['71] and wife, Becky; and nieces and nephew. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lesbia C. Soapes; and daughter, Natalie Marie Soapes. Dr. Soapes was an amazing chiropractor that will never be forgotten. He practiced in Albuquerque and Santa Rosa. He was proud of his work to help and heal those in need with his extraordinary effort to know as many individuals as he could and become everyone's friend. He loved the outdoors, loved life, and loved to give words of wisdom. He will be missed by many. His gentleness and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 16, 2011, 1:00 p.m., at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE. Memorial contributions may be made to the Minneapolis Children's Hospital, Natalie Soapes Fund, 2525 Chicago, Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55404.
