Johanna Marie Pfeiffer (Ehlers) - Class Of 1978

Johanna Ehlers
Virginia Beach - Johanna Marie Pfeiffer Ehlers, 52, passed away on September 30, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her husband of 27 years, Jamie, and children Nichole, Shelby, Grant, and Jamie Peter. Jo battled brain cancer for 10 months and is finally resting in the arms of Jesus.
Jo was born in Jacksonville, Florida on June 16, 1960, to Paul (deceased) and Jean Pfeiffer. As a "Navy brat," she grew up in California, the DC area, and England. Known for her "organizing," she loved and tended to her garden, her preschool classes, her Jody's popcorn events, and the community of her children's friends for whom she always held an open door. She loved coffee on the screened-in porch and spending time with her family, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ.
JoJo is also survived by her heartbroken siblings Paula (Buck) Tanis, Pamela Parker, Mark (Jenny) Pfeiffer, Jennifer Pfeiffer, and Michael (Lisa) Pfeiffer, and many loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 5, at 11 a.m. at Sovereign Grace Church, 508 Centerville Turnpike North, Chesapeake, VA. Johanna's family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Heartland Hospice for their loving and gracious care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Navy Federal Credit Union for the Ehlers' children's education fund, and details will be posted on Jo's site at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/johannaehlers.
