Edmund Steffy "Eddie" Lipp - Class Of 1974

Eddie died on May 2, 1982.  He is survived by his parents, Edward and Muriel Lipp, and his sisters, Ellen (Lipp) Kinsella, class of 1976, Kathy Lipp-Farr, class of 1978, and Anne Lipp, class of 1982.

"Ed was a very talented musician, who played in the marching band for all four years of his time at FHHS. He graduated from Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire. He was a very smart guy, faithful friend, and a great brother. His death was a very sad shock. We will never forget him!" ~Ellen Lipp Kinsella

Eddie was in almost every class of mine through Hollin Hall Elementary School. I think we also went to Tauxemont preschool together. He was very smart and kind, although painfully shy at times. Looking back on it, I can see he was a talented artist, musician and writer. Of course as kids,  I just thought of him as "one of the neighborhood guys"...as I did most of the Tauxemonter/Hollin Hall kids.

Once we hit intermediate school and high school, though, I don't think I had one class with him and sort of lost touch. But the Lipps were always on my radar, being (almost) from Tauxemont, as it were (we lived one block outside of the Tauxemont neighborhood, but did everything with the Tauxemonters) So we were all sort of clannish, and caught up with each other even after college when home on breaks at Mrs. McLelland's Christmas parties. That was the last time I saw Ed in 1982.

He was missed when others of our Hollin Hall clan gathered for my marriage to "one of the neighborhood guys" (John Bouldin) in 1986.

Hugs to you and your family,

Barbara

My brother, Bill, and I also grew up with Eddie as kids and our families were (and remain) close.  I loved hearing Eddie practice bassoon when I was over visting with Ellen.  He was very sweet and shy - and strictly prohibited entry into his bedroom by any sisters or girls! :)  I liked the way he talked too, with a bit of a lisp I believe.  I remember thinking that was wonderful and fascinating.  We love you, Eddie.
