Robin Drummond (Gibbin) - Class Of 1974

DECEASED ALUM:  ROBIN DRUMMOND GIBBIN (FHHS '74)

Robin Drummond Gibbin passed away in Pasadena, California on February 1st. She had a short illness over the holidays, then after about a month in the hospital, she passed. Robin left twin daughters, Charlotte and Elizabeth, who she had later in life. They are in their early 20’s.

Robin's husband, Donnie Gibbin (FHHS/GHS '73) had a stroke a number of years ago and is under care in Virginia. The girls are left pretty much by themselves at a young age.

Robin’s friends have set up a GoFundMe account for Robin’s twin daughters. We're hoping the FHHS family can help out.

I'm really sad to hear this about Robin, but I want to thank Cindy and Kathy for sharing it. Charlotte and Elizabeth, we've never met, but my heart goes out to you. Your mom was one of the best.

I was just thinking about Robin last week. She and my sister Janet King (FHHS '74 and JMU '78), who predeceased her Aug. 8, 2013, were closer than close in high school and college.

I recall that Janet entrusted Robin with one of her last wishes: "Please don't let Jack sing 'Will the Circle Be Unbroken' at my funeral," and I didn't. That's how close they were. Kathy, I've sort of lost track of you but hope you're doing well. Cindy, I've really enjoyed your TV commercials.

Take care, everybody.

Brendan Joseph Kiernan (1974)

Very very sad to see Robon passed away.  Robin, Janet and many others of us used to hang out quite a bit at FHHS.  Then Robin, Janet, Gene Strobel, myself and others all went to JMU together.  I lived with Robin for a few years in Harisonburg with 3 or 4 other females.  'They were all majoring in art.  I was majoring in bullshitting around and then getting my degree in special education in 1979.  I loved both Janey and Robin like sisters and am deeply sadden to hear this news.  Love you Robin, your old friend who used to sit at the same lunch table with Janet, John Tarpey and others in the cafetira at FHHS, then the great years we had hanging out together talking shit, smoking cigs and just being undergrads living life to its fullest at JMU from 1976-78.  Signed your dear friend forever,  Brendan Kiernan, class or 74
