Emily's Obituary

Emily Palmer-Garcia, 59, of Brunswick, MD, a beloved mother of two and a treasured friend, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022.

Emily W. Palmer, daughter of the late Prudence "Prue" Palmer of Virginia Beach, VA, and Col. David G. Palmer, USAF (Ret.) of Mt. Jackson, VA, was born in Syracuse, NY on February 16, 1963. She graduated from Fort Hunt High School in 1980 and resided in Virginia for over 45 years.

Emily was a bundle of energy who could move mountains when she put her mind to it. She was generous to one and all, a truly kind and beautiful person with a heart of gold. With her inviting personality and sense of humor, she made friends wherever she went.

She was delighted by the little things in life and made the most of them. She loved gardening in the warm sun, listening to her favorite "tunes," and spending time with her two dogs. Above all else, she adored her two wonderful sons, Austin and Dylan.

Emily was also a talented service industry professional and leader, establishing her career in business management at Chesapeake Bay Seafood House restaurants from 1981 to 1989. Quickly rising to the position of general manager and building a reputation as a gifted leader, she ultimately oversaw a unit of 60 employees and a volume of more than $1.3 million annually, and continued her efforts in future service endeavors thereafter.

Emily leaves behind a legacy of love and joy. She is survived by her children, Austin D. Garcia and Dylan A. Garcia; sister, Jennifer; brother, Stephen D. Palmer; niece, Brittany Palmer; nephews, Manoli, Ethan and Evan Palmer; dear friends Esther Brittain and Diane Creager; and their extended families.
