My brother Neil had a kindness and compassion of spirit that touched everyone who knew him and I take comfort in knowing that his life was well lived.

I shared his passion for motorcycles from the back of his Harley as often as he would let me.  Our mutual love of our dogs and their antics kept us challenged and smiling.

His work as a carpenter was often praised by his clients and in several newspaper articles.  I'm particularly proud of the renovation work he did of our grandparents' home when he restored it to a condition more beautiful than I imagined possible.  The improvements he made to our family home are still visible today, even the garage bears his signature as his "office" that had racks of tools stored for use and woodworking tools that stood in the front of the garage.

I think one of my favorite memories of him was when we both grabbed (and wouldn't release) the channel changer on top of the old 1960s TV.  We tugged back and forth until we rocked the TV off the stand and into the floor.  Mom came running and we heard the ominous "WAIT UNTIL YOUR FATHER GETS HOME!"  Fortunately for us, we got the TV back on the stand and working without delay.  Not sure if she ever told dad or not.

God's peace be with you all,

Brenda
