I have not been on the FHHS website for over a year, having lost a son myself.  I am so saddened to hear of the loss of Donna.  She was such a firecracker!!!  I remember her from Li'l Abner and so many other moments from those four years.  My prayers go out to her family and close friends.  She will be missed.

I was sadden to hear of Donna Gigante’s untimely passing.  As  a teacher, former coach, and the Class of 76’ Faculty Advisor, I was honored to have the opportunity of coaching, teaching, and working with many, many wonderful, young people at Fort Hunt High School.   Donna was one such person.  I first met Donna when she was a student in my Classroom Driver’s Education class her Sophomore year.  I got to know her better, as a highly active participant in the Class Council of the Class of 76’.  The things I remember most about her was her ever smiling, bubbly, and uplifting personality, that she always brought into the classroom and to school every day.  She worked hard, and along with many other students in the Class Council, helped to make the Class of 76’ one of the most spirited and successful classes ever to attend Fort Hunt High School.  I feel that I am a better person, having known her.

I wish to offer my condolences to her friends and family, and I know her bright, happy personality will be greatly missed by ever so many people who knew her.  I know she will forever live in my memory.

May God Bless her and give peace and comfort to her family.

Mr. D. L. Jones

Don (Mr. Jones) and Christine - thank you for your kind comments.  Don, it is especially nice to hear from our former teachers and get some insight as to their impressions about the Federals students. We certainly appreciate everything that you did for us - class sponsorships, teaching us math, sportsmanship and athletic skills in gym and especially for the Driver's Education that we desperately needed. Thank you also for your frank impressions of the students of-the-day and particulary Donna Gigante. We all feel the loss when one of the Federals is no longer with us. May she rest in peace.
