Michael G. Picini Jr., 67, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 11th, 2020 in his home.

Known to many as Mike, he was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1953. He is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Michael Picini Sr. He is survived by his loving wife Chato, his three children, Dawn, Michael, and Jasmine, his brother Anthony, his son-in-law Moses, his grandson Christian, and grand-dog Saxon.

Mike had just celebrated his 67th birthday on Saturday surrounded by family, with even a surprise visit from his son Michael Picini III. His family inadvertently chose a “tropical theme” for his celebration as a nod to his many years living abroad and on the island of Guam.

In his younger years, he was a very active and social guy through sports. He loved playing golf, tennis, and basketball. As he got older, he continued his love for sports through coaching and watching his daughter Jasmine play softball. He was an avid Eagles fan, Phillies fan, and Notre Dame fan.

Mike’s essence is characterized by his big captivating personality. Throughout his life he had touched so many people with his charisma, charm, and knack to tell stories that always made people laugh. He was more than an amazing man-- he was a memorable one for his thoughtfulness of others.

A viewing will be held on Friday, August 21st, 2020 at St. Louis Church at 10am with a service following directly after at 11am. Interment will occur at Mt. Comfort Cemetery. Flowers or donations may be sent to 2301 Collingwood Rd. Alexandria, VA 22308.

Charitable donations may be made in Mike's name to Saint Jude’s Children Research Hospital and the American Diabetes Association.
