Deceased Alum - Karin Halsted, FHHS '70

Karen passed in her senior year, December 10, 1969, before she could graduate.  She was noted in the yearbook for her school spirit, kindness and generosity.  Karen had a heart condition brought-on from Rheumatic Fever that she contracted as a child and caused the heart damage that eventually took her life.  She was a library assistant at the school, among other pursuits.                     

The short write-up on her life is included in the 1970 yearbook.  She passed while 'participating in a school activity', although no other details were given.  She was just 18 years old.

If any of the early Federals knew Karen, please notify the alumni association with any details that you may have about her life and we'll be glad to add it to her 'In Memory' write-up here.
