LINDA MAURER NORTH, 61, of Manassas, Virginia passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Prince William Hospital in Manassas.

She was born July 31, 1952 in Long Beach, California the daughter of the late Richard C. and Kathryn (McCammon) Maurer.

Linda was a loving mother to her daughter Katie who describes her as “my best friend, my rock, my everything” and a caring daughter and primary caretaker for her father prior to his passing in 2013. She was a warm, generous, friend who brought laughter and joy to everyone she met.

Linda worked in many of the local restaurants in Manassas. She remembered everyone’s names and preferences and in turn, they all remembered her and followed her from restaurant to restaurant over the years. She had a large, diverse circle of friends and brought people from all walks of life together. Everyone that she crossed paths with became her friend whether she had known them for ten minutes or ten years. She touched many people’s heart with her great sense of humor and genuine caring. She could light up the darkest of times and was the best cheerleader to have on your team.

Linda loved the beach and in her spare time she always had a book in hand. She was an animal lover and in turn the animals could sense the kind, nurturing spirit that she was. She could often be found hand feeding the local deer and birds. She cherished her friends and her family and the love that she had for them is beyond words. She will truly be missed and never forgotten.

Her daughter Katie said, “she was my rock star, my angel, and I think everyone could agree, an absolute pleasure to everyone who was a part of her life. My mom was a legendary woman, whose legacy will forever live. There were so many wonderful qualities about my mom that I could only hope to be like her one day.”
