MARK STEVEN MANN  
October 10, 1951 - March 15, 2001  
 

Mark Steven Mann, Esq., youngest child of Brig. Gen. and Mrs. Lyle E. Mann, USAF (Ret.) passed in the early morning hours with family close at hand. Brother, Uncle, Friend, Counselor, and consummate professional, he will be missed immensely by all.
Mark was born in Montgomery, Alabama and raised around the world following his father's USAF career moves. He graduated from Fort Hunt High School in Alexandria, VA in 1969. In 1973, he graduated with honors from the University of Illinois. He earned his Juris Doctorate in 1976 from Georgetown University School of Law. Mark began his legal career as Assistant Corporate Counsel Prosecutor for the District of Columbia. He continued his legal career in private practice as a Criminal Defense Attorney. He was licensed to practice law in California, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Mark called the Hayfield area of Alexandria his home for over 20 years.
Mark was predeceased by his father, Brig. Gen. Lyle E. Mann, USAF (Ret.); his mother, Maurine Hawley Mann; and eldest brother, Major Robert W. Mann, USAF (Ret.). He is survived by his sister, Lynda S. Mann of Alexandria; his brother, David A. Mann and wife Linda, of Mims, FL. and sister-in-law, Nancy L. Mann, of Prairie Village, KS.
Mark specifically asked to be cremated with no formal memorial services. Donations to the Air Force Memorial Foundation, One Air Force Memorial Drive, Arlington, VA 22204 (703-979-0674) follow a family tradition to honor him. His family invites all to join them in lighting a candle in his memory.
