Mike passed away in July of 2004. He is still greatly missed.

Reunion season is hard for me. My brother was so involved. Mike Lawrence was in the first freshman class to attend FHHS. The first class to spend all 4years, graduating in 1969. I graduated in 1985, in the last class to spend all 4 years. I miss him. I miss the things I know he would be doing. The afterparty, the genuine spirit, leading the legacy.

I'm sorry Amy, but you are mistaken. The first freshman class was in 1963, graduating in 1967. Mike and I were in the class of '69, our freshman year beginning in 1965.

That's true.  Tom Harvey ('67) has told me many times about his class being the first class to go through all four years at FHHS. And it makes sense as the school opened for business in September of 1963. But, in the end we're all Federals - whether you were in the early classes or later classes, and whether you attended one semester or all four years.  Once a Federal, always a Federal!

Mike was such a dynamo!! ~ remember all the $$ he raised for our class? I remember when he was running for class president and climbed atop one of the buses to give an impromptu speech as we were leaving school. Mike was one of a kind and I was blessed to be his neighbor and his friend ~ MIke was special!
