Linda Miller - Class Of 1968

DECEASED ALUM:  LINDA MILLER, FHHS '68

On Tuesday, August 20th, 2019 Linda Miller, FHHS Class of 1968 passed from what may have been another stroke. Paramedics were on the scene, but were unable to revive her.  Linda was wheelchair bound since a stroke and heart attack in March of 2013 and went through a long rehabilitation process.

Linda was the first board member for the FHHS Alumni Association and happily volunteered when asked by her friend,  Doug Clark ('68) to join the group.  She attended numerous planning meetings as we prepared for the school's 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2013.  Sadly, Linda was unable to attend the festivities because of her stroke and heart attack.  She was cared for by her brother Dan, with whom she shared a home, and by younger sister Cindy (FHHS '76) who lives nearby in Maryland.

Dan was cared for by Linda after he had a serious car accident some years prior to Linda's stroke, so Dan was able to return the favor to his sister by caring for her for 6+years.  It's good to have family.

Linda was an equestrian, and owned a horse, Trisket, who was boarded locally.  Linda liked to ride, walk and groom her horse and had an active role in the local equestrian community.

A celebration of life for Linda has been tentatively set for October 19th, 2019 at St. Aidan's Church on Riverside Road in Alexandria.  We'll miss Linda.

Linda always was a class act in school at Ft. Hunt and after our graduation.  I remember I used to occasionally run into Linda at Hollin Hall Shopping Center when I visited my elderly mother to run Mom's errands.  Linda was always sweet, kind, and most gracious.  Her smile and laugh could light up a room.  We will all miss her greatly.  What a wonderful lady.

It is with sadness that I have learned of Linda’s passing.  I remember working with her decorating for our Junior Prom as well as having classes together.  She was always very friendly and had a huge smile on her face.  RIP dear friend!!

My sympathy to Linda’s family. She was such a sweet person with a truly wonderful smile. I am thankful for the alphabetical class room assignments over the years that kept us in a lot of the same classes.

Linda did much to help get the FHHS Alumni Association off the ground.  She really enjoyed being part of the group and it was a major disappointment that her stroke in 2013 prevented her from participating in the FHHS 50th Anniversary celebration and subsequent alumni events over the years.  She was a great colleague and friend whose charming personality made our work together a delighful experience.  Linda will be missed by all who knew her.
