Douglas Paul Robinson - Class Of 1972

Douglas Paul Robinson, Fort Hunt High School class of '72, died as a result of untreated depression on August 18, 1988. He is survived by his wife, Peggy ter Horst Robinson (class of '71), his two children, Jesse and Katie, his parents, Boyd and Estelle Robinson, brother, Jim (class of '67), his wife, Penny and their two children, Jennifer and Nick, his grandmother, Selma Caporaletti and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Doug was a native of Alexandria, born on October 30, 1953 in Alexandria Hospital. Upon graduation from high school, Doug established a well loved sign business, Alexandria Sign Designers, Inc. first at Prince and Union Streets, then later at 1204 King Street. Doug's artistic talents included pen and ink drawings, sculpture, print-making, and stained glass. He enjoyed bike riding, surfing, sailing, racquetball, collecting old cars and building furniture. He is remembered for his laughter, sense of humor, and adventurous spirit. He continues to be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched.
