I’ve attached the obituary for our FHHS Classmate, Johnny Goeser, who passed away March 20, 2006.

Johnny was originally a FHHS ’72 student, who graduated with the FHHS ’73 class. We were glad to claim him as one of our own. Those of us who were in the ‘73 Graduation Ceremony can remember the loud cheers for Johnny as he crossed the stage and received his Fairfax County High School diploma.  It was a struggle for Johnny to get his diploma and unfortunately, much of his life was also a struggle.

He attended the 30 Year reunion for Class of ’73 in July of 2003 and many of us were able to see him for the first time in years.  He was extremely friendly, funny and I know he had a great time.  He looked frail, but none of us knew then that it would be the last time we would see him.

Many didn't know that Johnny was a great lover of music... the Beatles in particular. He knew all the lyrics From all the albums .. we frequently sang them together.
There was never a discouraging word from Johnny. He always had a kind word and a way to make you smile; a true gift.
This one's for you Johnny...Cheers!

John was of the secrete cool guys who hung out side the English class rooms,

or who got caught by Mr. Barr. He was always at 7-11 cause he lived down the street

and could walk there. Unfortunately he became a Alcoholic and that is what really

ended his life. He had called me and said he was back on the wagon and could not

take it no more, After that he passed a few months latter. He loved the Beetles and

could sing every song they played. He always had the music of the beetles blasting

out the second floor of his house with the window open of course. I would play guitar

in the Park with Alan Thompson and Johnny would sing the Beetles tune to the Note.

He worked at the Car Wash on Route 1 and said tips were good and he enjoyed talking

with the other workers. John left a legacy of funnny jokes and always made people

laugh. When he was sober he was at his best but with his disease he could not help

him self no matter what. I went with him to get Tickets to Led Zepplin and it was rough

weathered day at Capital Center. Tickets sold out before we got to the gate. Boo !

Any how lot more concerts at Capital Center were to come along for us. I can also

Remember John and i had Dbl dates with our Girl friends and had lots of fun  doing that. A good

friend and High School buddy. His life was shorter then some but will be remembered as

a Fort Hunt High School Graduate that made it through that 1973 time zone.
