DECEASED ALUM:  DAVID LEASK MEADE, FHHS '81

Born December 13, 1962

Died March 4, 2009

David Meade died unexpectedly in his sleep the morning of March 4, 2009 at his home in Leesburg, Virginia; he was 46 years old. He grew up south of Alexandria, VA in the suburb of Waynewood, graduated from Fort Hunt High school in 1981 and Georgia Tech in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. After college graduation, he was employed by the Mellow Mushroom Pizza Company of Atlanta where he helped to manage operations. In the late 1980s he returned to the Washington, DC area where he spent the next 26 years working in financial aspects of real estate development - first with Washington Homes, which later became K Hovnanian and over the last year with Republic Land Development, LLC.

David is remembered for his generosity and his devotion to family and friends. He was everyone's favorite uncle who had a constant state of joy and playfulness about him. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched and invariably made better by his presence.
