Sameena Ahmed (Moghal) - Class Of 1976

Deceased Alum: SAMEENA Ahmed - FHHS Class of '76
Date Of Birth: July-4-1958
Date Deceased: November-8-2013
Age at Death: 55
Cause of Death: Ovarian cancer
Alum City: Sterling
Alum State: VA
Alum Country: USA
Was a Veteran: No
Survived By: Mother, sister (Rubina),brother (Nadim), step brother Jimmy - all siblings graduated from Fort Hunt!

SAMEENA was one of the most positive and generous people I've ever known. At Fort Hunt, Sameena was a cheerleader & class officer. She was also my oldest friend since 7th grade at Stephen Foster! We went to Mary Washington College together too! She was at my wedding & knew my kids & husband!

She suffered ovarian cancer - with treatment given by less than a vet would do ( Kaiser !). It is disgusting to see someone suffer so long! Thank God for the little (grand) people - care givers who loved her & treated her with the dignity she deserved after working so many years. She worked for SAIC for over 20 years! My dad helped her get that job that she merited on her own! She was also a humanitarian! She donated to world hunger and other international groups.

Sameena always ended all her emails with:  "Kindness Brings Peace."  Good words to live by!

She is remembered by Brian Dunn's wife (Suzy- from Mount Vernon High-her BFF), Barb Moseley & Me (Cyndi Sosnowski)! We'll miss her & always love her! A memorial is TBD! Thank you!

We grew up next to the Ahmed's and Sameena was one of the truly good people of this world.  She will be sorely missed!  Prayers for her family to help them deal with this horrible loss!

Sam was a true friend; she always "had my back" throughout our high school and college years. We had many adventures and misadventures, and she was always ready to support, assist, and laugh. She was bigger than life, and I cannot believe she no longer walks with us.

What an inspiration she was! Always kind, thoughtful and at peace. I am sure she touched many lives in extremely positive ways.

Very sad news indeed! Sameena was one of those special people, always friendly, smiling and exceptionally beautiful! I always looked up to her and admired her amazing people skils. And what a tragic commentary on our health care system... It is beyond broken. We may have lost, but Heaven has gained a beautiful angel!

I had one class with her my freshman year. She was a beautiful person, in every way. Condolences to her family and loved ones.

I was fortunate to be a friend of Sameena's in high school. My parents got to meet her when she was our server one evening at dinner. They noted that not only was she beautiful, but respectful and sweet. The news of her passing is terrible.

I remember being a class officer with Sameena.  She was kind and hard-working.  She actually came down to UVA for Easters one year.  We had a blast.  I was so saddened to hear this news. Chris (Owen) Bradley

Sameena was a lovely person in every way, always smiling and so positive. I am so sorry to hear that she suffered for so long. I know she is at peace now.

There are some things that do not make sense.  Sameena was kind to everyone she knew.  She was an inspiration to those people who knew her at FHHS.  She was active in Student Government and universally liked.  After 37 years, I still remember her smile and giving spirit.
