A memorial service has been set Sunday for Julia “Helen” S. Bunge, an avid horsewoman, community activist and San Juan Capistrano resident.
Bunge died on April 9 [2011] of colon cancer. She was 54.
She was born December 29, 1956 in Galveston, Texas. She began to call San Juan Capistrano her home over 20 years ago, falling in love with this city and its Western heritage, her husband, Les Bunge said.
Bunge was a founding partner at Laser Exhibitor Inc. She also served as General Manager of the “Medal Club” for Blenheim Sports.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter Jessica and son Morgan. Bunge was a loving sister to Faith Laffin and Alan Sanderford, and a loyal daughter to Ann Anderson.
A friend to all, she was loved and cherished for her soft and kind demeanor. Capistrano has lost a real “Jewel of the Missions,” her husband, Les Bunge said.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held at 4 p.m. April 17 at Blenheim Farms, 28801 San Juan Creek Road, San Juan Capistrano.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Mission Hospital Foundation, 27799 Medical Center Road, Mission Viejo, CA 26291-9965, with "Julia Bunge" in the memo line.
