James Frederick "Jim" Hahn - Class Of 1978

James F. Hahn - Merritt Island - James Frederick (Jim) Hahn, age 49, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2009 after a short illness. Born March 5, 1960 to Arlene and James S. Hahn, Jim grew up in a military family, graduating from Fort Hunt High School in 1978 in Alexandria, VA. He later graduated from the University of MD. Jim devoted his career to the field of transportation and logistics. He worked on a government contract in Belgium in 1989, after marrying the former Janet Price in 1988. It was then his association with Gosselin World Wide Moving/Belgium began. Jim and his family traveled the next few years. His son, Brody, was born in 1996. They returned to Florida in 2000 when he began his own business. In 2004 his company, James Global Logistics, Inc., won a government contract. He expanded offices in Port Canaveral to include other ventures, spending leisure time near the water with his family, and was very involved with his son in Boy Scout Troop #369. Jim is preceded in death by his father, Lt. Col. James S. Hahn. He is survived by his wife Janet of 20 years, and his 12-year-old son, Brody, Merritt Island; his mother, Arlene Osterman, Oregon; one brother David Hahn and wife Kim, Manassas, VA; one sister, Mary Caneva, Arlington, VA; mother- in-law, Nellie Paul, Daytona; sister-in-law, Teresa Manganaro, Daytona; five nephews, two nieces and one grand-nephew. Services are Sunday, August 9th, 2 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 65 Needle Blvd., Merritt Island. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to GUMC Boy Scout Troop #369, 65 Needle Blvd., Merritt Island, FL 32953.

Donald Owen (1977)

Jim was a blast to be around; I had the pleasure of his company many times on several road trips.   I still have  a classic picture of Jim, Moochie Bacak and me after a night of fun at the now-famous Easters party held in Charlottesville - UVA in 1979; wow, what a trip!    Miss you buddy!
