DOROTHY S. DUNCAN, 79, formerly of Alexandria, died May 27, 2009 at Bridgewater Retirement Community, Bridgewater, Va., as a result of Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Honolulu and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School, Brenau College and the George Washington University Graduate School of Education. She worked in the field of education in Northern Virginia as a teacher, curriculum specialist and administrator for 35 years. She taught at Fort Hunt High School and was Principal of Stephen Foster Intermediate School and Hayfield Secondary School. Services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Staunton, Va., at 1 p.m. June 13. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Woman’s College, Brenau University, 500 E.
